AFSA provides the consumer credit industry and its customers with a voice in Washington, D.C., where the association is headquartered.
Whether you are a large diversified financial services company, a single state operator or a company that specializes in one industry segment such as traditional installment lending, payment cards, mortgage lending/servicing, retail sales finance and vehicle finance/leasing - AFSA is the association for you. AFSA members benefit from an action-oriented trade association that has the capacity to anticipate and deal with short-and long-term industry challenges.
More than 390 companies currently make up the AFSA membership. Each of our five membership categories has distinctive benefits tailored to the specific needs of the diverse consumer credit industry.
To qualify for AFSA membership, a company must:
  • Commit to the highest ethical standards;
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations;
  • Abide by AFSA Bylaws and Guiding Principles;
  • Receive approval by the AFSA Board of Directors; and 
  • Pay all dues and fees when due
Ways to Get Involved

A major benefit of corporate membership continues to be the opportunity to involve senior management in the appropriate AFSA board, committee, section or division that relates to an individual company’s needs and interests.  Many of these groups are the driving forces for major AFSA initiatives and activities.

How to Join

AFSA has more than 390 corporate members within five membership categories:  

Companies that provide consumers with many kinds of credit including traditional installment loans, mortgages, direct and indirect vehicle financing/leasing, payment cards and credit for non-vehicle retail customers.
Companies that provide commercial financing and that do not qualify for active membership.
Companies that provide products and services to consumer or commercial finance companies and banks.
*A company may not join solely as a Business Partner if it qualifies as an active member. However, active member subsidiaries that are suppliers to the industry may join as a Business Partner at a discounted dues rate.  AFSA has a special Premier Business Partner recognition program for Business Partners that spend $7,500 or more in advertising, exhibiting, sponsoring or attending conferences on an annual basis.
