FOUNDATION FOCUS
Harley-Davidson Financial Services Provides Grants
for MoneySKILL Teacher Training in Wisconsin

Thanks to support provided by Harley-Davidson Financial Services, AFSAEF, in partnership with the Wisconsin Office of Financial Literacy, Department of Financial Institutions, will provide statewide teacher training in Wisconsin starting the fall of 2004.

MoneySKILL teacher training will be offered at fifteen teacher in-service training days in the schools districts of Milwaukee, Madison and Fox Valley. Teachers and administrations will be trained at education forums ranging from teachers unions to statewide school district administration organizations. Wisconsin has twelve Cooperative Education Service Agencies who partner to host regional training seminars for teachers; MoneySKILL will be offered at Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay/Appleton, Wisconsin Dells and Wausau.

In addition, a statewide contest is being offered to recognize schools with the highest number of students completing MoneySKILL. A stipend will be given to the first 50 teachers to successfully have 20 students complete the MoneySKILL course. Also, a monetary award will be given to the top two non-school organizations (such as Boys and Girls Club, YMCA, Scouting, etc.) that have ten or more students completing MoneySKILL.
