AFSAEF, Wisconsin Office of Financial Literacy Joins Forces to Provide MoneySKILL Teacher Training

AFSAEF, in partnership with the Wisconsin Office of Financial Literacy, Department of Financial Institutions, began providing statewide teacher training in Wisconsin in the fall of 2004. Support for the project was provided by Harley-Davidson Financial Services. More than 200 teachers and 155 administrators have received training at education forums ranging from teacher unions to statewide school district administration organizations.

In April 2005, the Department of Financial Institutions will launch a direct mail to 9,000 teachers promoting financial literacy in the classroom—this will include MoneySKILL. Also, teachers will be awarded $100 each if they have at least 20 students completing MoneySKILL—the school with the most students to complete the MoneySKILL curriculum will receive $1,000.
