AFSA, AFSA Education Foundation to Help
Sponsor Financial Literacy Day on Capitol Hill

AFSA and the AFSA Education Foundation have joined the pool of sponsors for this year's Financial Literacy Day on Capitol Hill, to be held Tuesday, April 25 in the Hart Senate Office Building. Also participating for a fourth consecutive year are the event's three convening organizations—the Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy, the National Council on Economic Education (NCEE) and Junior Achievement (JA) Worldwide.

Financial Literacy Day on Capitol Hill is presented each year in collaboration with the office of either a senator or representative. This year's collaborator is the office of Senator Daniel K. Akaka (D-HI).

The event's purpose is to showcase to Members of Congress and their staffs some of the best of what's being done in the public and private sectors to address the financial literacy issue. Plans call for Senators Akaka and Michael B. Enzi (R-WY) to each make a brief address, as well as Representatives Judy Biggert (R-IL) and Rubn Hinojosa (D-TX).

Other sponsors for this year's event include: Citigroup, HSBC—North America, McGraw-Hill Foundation, Nelnet and Wells Fargo.
