FOUNDATION FOCUS
MoneySKILL Popular Among High School Teachers

As the 2005-2006 school year draws to a close, more than 950 high school teachers have registered to use MoneySKILL™ in the classroom. In addition, more than 12,000 new students have experienced all or parts of the MoneySKILL course.

Teacher training workshops have proven to be the most effective way to peek teachers' interest in using this personal finance curriculum. Three teacher training sessions were held in Arizona in April 2006, reaching more than 100 teachers attending the statewide Jumpstart and Business Educators meetings. Several teacher training workshops are planned over the summer months in conjunction with state Jumpstart Coalitions and state Business Education Associations, including: West Virginia, Wisconsin, Iowa, Kentucky and Missouri. Additional sessions are planned for the fall in Ohio, Texas, Illinois, Vermont, Washington, New York and Nevada.
