The State Government Affairs Department plays an extensive, broad-based role on behalf of AFSA members by monitoring and responding to legislative and regulatory issues on the state level.  The department monitors virtually all relevant legislation for its members through AFSA*Track at KSE Focus®, updating members on state issues via weekly legislative reporting; monthly enacted law reports; and ongoing payment card, vehicle finance, personal loan and mortgage lending calls on priority issues. Intended for the use of AFSA members, the department constantly develops issues management materials, including but not limited to talking points, issue briefs, white papers, and 50-state surveys. SGA also holds quarterly state association executive briefings; regular in-person meetings on priority issues through the SGA Committee; and the annual State Government Affairs Forum jointly with state regulators.
