AFSA Education Foundation at Full Throttle in 2018 January 09, 2018 The AFSA Education Foundation (AFSAEF) was established in 1990 as a non-profit organization. Its mission is to heighten consumers' awareness of personal financial responsibility and it is committed to consumer credit education by providing MoneySKILL®, a comprehensive, online personal finance program. To date, MoneySKILL has over 810,000 student users and over 23,000 teachers registered to teach from all 50 states as well as 38 foreign countries. Because of the generous support from AFSA members over the years, MoneySKILL is available at no cost to middle schools, high schools, and colleges. In 2018, the foundation plans to focus on the following: Grow the number of MoneySKILL users substantially. Promote the new Spanish version of MoneySKILL via communications and outreach efforts. Raise awareness of and engagement in MoneySKILL among AFSA member companies through program adoption and financial support of the AFSAEF. Additionally, in order to help AFSA members train the next generation of leadership in the consumer finance industry, the foundation has been a key component in the development of these leaders and continues to provide cutting-edge training through both THE EDGE for high-potential managers and the AFSA Leadership Development Program at the University of North Carolina. The foundation also will work to emphasize the MoneySKILL program at these venues to encourage personal financial literacy in the workplace. Whether educating consumers or educating members, the foundation is full speed ahead in the New Year!
