One of the many benefits of AFSA membership is the opportunity to involve senior management in the section, market segment and/or division that relate to individual company’s needs and interests. Many of these groups act as the driving force for major AFSA initiatives and activities.

INDEPENDENTS SECTION

The AFSA Independents Section supports independent member companies, including traditional installment lenders, subprime auto finance companies and sales finance companies. These initiatives include representation on Capitol Hill and in state capitals; outreach and engagement with regulatory agencies; conferences and forums focused on the industry; and proactive media relations programs. Provides a forum for members to exchange information and develop programs and services specifically designed to meet the needs of independents.

PAYMENT CARD SEGMENT

AFSA members who are actively engaged in the payment card industry provide input for the association initiatives related to card issues, such as submitting comment letters, issuing media statements, and testifying at and attending hearings on Capitol Hill and at the state level. In addition, the association’s consumer education efforts, through the AFSA Education Foundation, regularly provide resources to help consumers use cards wisely. Members in this market segment also have the opportunity to showcase their company at the AFSA Credit Summit for Fixed Income Investors.

MORTGAGE LENDING SEGMENT

AFSA provides its members that serve the mortgage lending market segment a forum for analysis, regulatory and legislative issues, education and the exchange of ideas relevant to the mortgage industry. Members benefit from the exchange of information and the ability to help define and coordinate AFSA priorities and  strategies.

VEHICLE FINANCE DIVISION

The AFSA Vehicle Finance Division supports member companies involved in the indirect financing and leasing of new and used vehicles through various initiatives at the federal and state levels. These initiatives include representation on Capitol Hill and in state capitals; outreach and engagement with regulatory agencies; conferences and forums focused on the industry; and proactive media relations programs. As a result of these initiatives, AFSA provides its members a forum for analysis and response to regulatory and legislative issues through awareness, education and the exchange of ideas relevant to providing access to credit in the vehicle finance industry. The division includes over 90 companies including: captive vehicle finance companies; auto finance subsidiaries of banks; independent auto finance companies and dealer finance companies – retail and wholesale.  An Advisory Board of top management from vehicle finance companies ensures that the division stays focused on issues of critical importance to members.
